Network operating center

Homogeneity is key to the successful management of any network. For this reason, our Network Operating Center (NOC) is equipped with the tools to help us deliver a full end-to-end management approach.

All functions, from the network core to the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) are integrated into a single management platform that caters for the configuration of the network, alarms collection and management, and performance measurements. All are translated to a Graphical User Interface (GUI), with visual and sound alarms that make proactive monitoring possible.

This ensures integrity of configuration information for customers and a lower “Lead Time to Connect” (LTC).

The NOC is largely responsible for the monitoring of the network, predicting and intervening in all customer problems that might affect the quality of services offered
.

Overview

The NOC will be used for day-to-day network operations, provisioning, and 24X7 monitoring and fault detection of network elements.
NOC systems will be located in an isolated subnet, directly attached to the backbone. All systems are protected by a failover PIX firewall, from backbone WAN switches and other networks (Data Center). The following section describes the layout, systems and corresponding functionality of the NOC of the Raya Telecom Network backbone network.
